Is the average Jehovah`s Witness judgemental ?You tow the line you get blessed ,if you dont get blessed you must be doing something wrong.
by smiddy init was another thread that prompted me to start this one , not appropiate for the former thread.
and it`s because the wt often promotes that jehovah/jesus protects and looks after his loyal followers ,that when something adverse occurs , the suspicion/judgement is "oh they must have been doing something wrong that nobody knew about, but you cant hide it from jehovah."mentality.

by Scott77 inany bethelite whom served the past 5/6 years remembers gerritt loesch's morning worship when he mentioned over 40% of those in special full-time service (bethel, missionary, co, do) were on antidepressants, such as prozac.

Utah has taken the honor of the "highest rate of depression in the United States, why? I read earlier articles in 2006 about Mormon women and high depression rates, that made the LDS church infuriated, challenging the researchers. Utah is the perfect State to ask questions and gauge antidepressant use among Mormons. I have no idea where GB Member L got his evidence for "Prosac use", what type of study did Bethel perform, numbers, interviews, who? Did they ask ten members and four said "we are depressed" so Loesch assumed his sample was valid to draw his erroneous conclusion, forty percent is high! UK is at ten-twelve percent, USA is at ten percent, so we are told!
" In this first-of-its-kind study, "Ranking America's Mental Health," researchers found statistical links between mental-illness rates and education levels, health insurance and the general availability of mental-health resources.
On average, suicide and depression rates are lowest in the states with higher percentages of mental-health professionals and higher percentages of the population receiving mental-health treatment.
"I certainly agree the link is there between access to care and better mental health," said Jarrod Hindman with the state's Office of Suicide Prevention.
People in South Dakota and Hawaii are the two "least depressed" states in the country, reports the nonprofit association Mental Health America.
Utah has the highest reported incidence of depression, and Alaska reported the highest suicide rate, nearly 27 deaths per 100,000 people.
The lowest suicide rate was found in the District of Columbia, followed by New York and Massachusetts.
The federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report that each year about 30,000 Americans take their lives. The most recent data available, 2004 suicides tracked by the CDC, formed the basis for the nationwide comparison.
Colorado's suicide rate is just over 17 deaths per 100,000 people.
Rates of depression among the states, based on 2004-05 data, vary from around 7 percent in the least-depressed states to more than 10 percent in states reporting the highest levels.
Colorado reported that 9.42 percent of adults experienced a major depressive episode and 11.4 percent reported experiencing serious psychological distress.Read more: State's suicide rate eighth-highest - The Denver Post http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_7584821#ixzz1tmkvPPGg

Good news, finally regarding my ex-elder-pedophile-father-in-law...
by misguided inabout two weeks ago he was arested in bc, about 35 years too late thanks to wts cover-up.. he had a baby with my ex-husband's sister - my kids have a cousin who is also their aunt.
this was all covered up by moving from ontario to bc back in the early 1980s, and it all being hidden by the wts; even allowing this guy to serve as an elder after the fact...when i got married to my ex, his father was an elder, and the baby of the incest was 15. .
today and from now on, hopefully things will unravell for the wts in canada, as he sits in jail in ontario (where the crimes were committed)charged on 24 counts of sexual abuse.. i hope there is a lot of embarrassment going on in that congregation in ladner, bc when all this originally came to light about 28 years ago, the congregation that let this man become an elder...because, my own parents seem to be in "cover-my-ass" mode when it comes to talking about this matter with me..

Fernando, was this one of Ray's last attempts to expose the irony of it all the the average dubs?
Grundy, we had a book "Paradise Lost" that scared the hell out of me as a child. The books older witnesses put into their kids minds, we breed drone bees to do the work for the Hive. The Governing Body would love to figure out how a bee colony works, the first part of the bees life, it's used to clean the hive, not thinking but cleaning, second half, the bee is sent out on a never ending nectar gathering work, work work work! No identity, just buzzing around looking for the low hanging flowers (householder at home, who keeps a magazine) while feeling a form of blissfull depression.
If the "good brothers" developed the same chemicals that make the these winged drones work till death, think of all the mindless drivers buzzing through town, everyday! everyday is field service day! No questions asked by the drone swarm of dubs!

What did your personal big AHA moments look like when you saw through a LIE or suddenly understood a TRUTH?

When an entire body of twelve elders were terrified of one man, and justice was not served but a miscarriage of it did.
The ability of one man to control a group of senile old men, that's not impartial, that's a local dictatorship!
One issue that troubled my mind, was how my righteous aunt hated her JW sisters, how is this possible, where is the love? I asked my aunt if it's right to hate her sisters, she never worked with me in field service again!
To this day, she preaches, but not the message of "Christ's love and forgiveness!" Don't you think that's bizzarre? She has a form of godly devotion but proves false to it! (Tim)

A "brief" synopsis of my story
by Sheep2slaughter ini wanted to tell my story for sometime.
i've been a member of jwn for a few months and a lurker even longer.
here's my story.

"sheep2slaugher" it might be premature to try to fade, your wife kept you? What will your wife think, will she think something is up again? The religion is probably what kept you two married, after you cheated? If you start to fade this quick into the game, your unbiased and unconditionally loving family hair will stand up on their backs, and they will judge you as a manipulator!
You won't be asked to be a elder or M.S., that's gone even in many fundamental churches, once a minister does this, you can't find work. It would be to obvious and self serving to act this fast, you wanted back in, you got it. IMHO

Thinking about disassociating yourself - STOP!...at least for a moment
by rory-ks in(this recent forum post about a letter of disassociation encouraged me to post this new topic.
it's been sitting in my drafts folder for a little while, but now is as good a time as any.).
my suggestion would be, try not to go down the route of disassociation.

You got balls Ray Publisher!
We all come from different backgrounds, but we all have this religion as our commonality. How each person carries his affairs, is his own business, annominity is good, no need to broadcast your intentions to unsavory, blinded and conditionally loyal men. This area needs a tactful approach, lurkers abound here at JWN, who are not ready to "out" themselves, so men can pigeon hole them into group Good or group Apostate, once you are labled apostate, good luck at trying to reach your loved ones.
The ability to raise people's thinking powers, are better done by someone they trust, can relate to, and care about. You have a whole territory of men and women, who are more willing to listen to a "brother" as opposed to allowing the Org wipe your name off their list of life! Keep your annominity, when the time is correct, you will know what to do. Not all of us had the perfect storm affect, Dogpatch experienced, he was single, saw ugly things at the very top. Do keep up the good work Ray!

Spanish would be the most useful language for day to day situations, lots of Spanish speaking people. I like puzzles, Japanese, Chinese (60 percent Mandarin, 40 percent 7 other languages) they have 56 dialects, that's too problematic for me!)
Spanish with a hint of arabic! thank you for your input, gracias!

Who Is Exempted From Field Service?
by Bubblegum Apotheosis inhey dogpatch, or anyone, who worked at headquarters, are their positions in this organization, that are exempted from preaching in the field ministry?.
did all governing body members obey jesus christ commision at (matthew 28:19,20), are some trying to abdicate this command, reasoning "they are too busy", their position is too lofty, to preach?.
matthew 28:16-20. new living translation (nlt).
